Almost there

Updates:

Visa: sent away for.

Packing: I'm going to start next week before I leave for the Carova.

I've talked to my program manager and she let me know that I will have internet access pretty regularly so keep your eyes open for my updates. Also, Obama apparently heard that I was going to Accra, Ghana on July 9th and he wanted to come along. So security should be pretty tight for the first few days I am there.

T minus 30 Days and Counting

Hello Everyone. I have created a blogspot so that everyone back at home can follow me during my adventures abroad.

All my preparations are almost complete.

Flight: Check (thanks Don and John)
Vaccinations: Check
Passport: Check
Program fee: Check (thanks Gigi and Pop and everyone else who generously donated)
Visa: sending out in the mail today
Hotel: completing with in the week
Packing: haven't even though of yet!

I am getting anxious about leaving. It has come up on me so fast. I started looking at my calendar when I still had over 90 days and now all of a sudden, I am leaving within the next month. Really I have two more weeks to get things accomplished. Then I leave for North Carolina, I am home for fours days and then I'm leaving on a jet plane!

I am going to try to keep this as updated as possible to let everyone know what I am up to while I am in Africa. Although I'm not sure how often I will have Internet access while I am over there. I will also try to post pictures of my adventures.
